Exciting news – The actress and singer Amanda Claire-Jones has now officially joined The Fleas on backing vocals. It’s given us a whole new gear and we absolutely love being a six-piece.

Watch our acoustic set for Junction 11 Radio

A while back, The Fleas played an acoustic session for Junction 11 radio in Reading. We did four songs, an interview, and even a little takeover of their playlist. It was loads of fun and everyone there was very lovely indeed. The guys even filmed us and have now edited together a couple of film clips of the session. Bernadette has now had the baby (a beautiful girl: Juno), but her bump is on full display in this performance…

BBC Introducing gig

Thanks a lot to BBC Introducing for a superb gig at Oakford Social Club in Reading this week. We didn’t have any bass on the night, so we decided to play an acoustic, skiffle-version of our set, with Mannie playing an upturned kitchen bin with some jazz brushes.Bernadette managed to get through it all, despite being 8 months pregnant. We had so much fun just playing the songs and enjoying their melodies, rather than all the usual banging and crashing.

Such sweet sound, thanks to John the soundman, and a great atmostphere in the room, largely thanks to the efforts and enthusiasm of the rather lovely promoter and BBC dude, Tim. Most of all, thanks a lot to all the reading fans who came out to see us on a Wednesday night and gave us such raucous applause and generous support. You were brill.

The Fleas sign management deal with Music Advisors

The Fleas are proud to announce that we’ve just signed up to Music Advisors, an international management firm. From now on, Michael Curtis will be managing the band. We’re hoping that the new relationship will help us to get our music heard overseas, most particularly in Canada, Japan and The Middle East. Thanks very much to Michael for believing in us and taking us on. Quite exciting….
